Jim Cross started selling tubes part time in 1992 as a sole proprietor of Vacuum Tubes Unlimited. He incorporated the company in 1998 as Vacuum Tubes, Inc. Their original offices were in Cincinnati, Ohio. They moved to their present location in Orlando, Florida in 2002.

Vacuum Tubes, Inc. carries a wide variety of new-old-stock tubes for audio, radio, industrial, and governmental customers. They maintain a growing stock of over a quarter million tubes of over 3000 different types, and are able to satisfy most tube needs. They also carry an expanding selection of new manufacture tubes, tube sockets, capacitors, and other parts and tube-related items.
